KEPTFIT KIDS - Curriculum support and The app
The App
From early years to collage The KEPT Fit Coaching Program and PE scheme has been developed into an APP to help ease of use, delivery of PE and increase teacher confidence.
Its easily read on a single page of a tablet as well as allowing teachers to watch the appropriate training video clips and assess pupils as lessons are underway. Pictures can also be taken and linked to classes and activities as well as linking to individual children to aid in reporting.
Reporting – You will have access to attendance and club Reports relating to pupils attending OOSH clubs. You will have the ability to gauge which year group is most active and which clubs are the most popular by how many children are attending, as well as highlighting which children attend the most clubs and are the most active.
You can see which year group has increased there activity levels year on year and create healthy competition between classes and year groups, its not about how good they are at sport or activity but that they are prepared to get involved and be active, not only doing something for them selves but also there classmates and eventually there school and community.
Assessments and Development- Within the App we have created an easy and quick to use assessment with tailored reports for every child in class dependant on their achieved standard within that sport.
Within a yearly structured frame work of lessons children can be developed within one sport or activity that can either be assessed per lesson or lead into a final assessment.
These assessments include physical ability challenges as well as testing and quizzing children on their skill and technical understanding of the sport or chosen activity.
The lessons and assessments are guided along the way with structured double planned lesson cards that not only include easy to understand pictures and videos but also include example questions and answers to gage understanding from your children. Whilst also helping develop the confidence of your teachers and their overall understanding of the sport or activity in question.
Upon completion of these assessments, children are automatically issued with a report explaining there achieved standard as well as offered practice activities automatically assigned to them to aid in there development. These Report practices are chosen dependant on the answers given or ability to undertake certain elements of the given assessment.
The yearly structure is planned as it is, due to these assessments and report practices. Sports and activities that share skills sets (such as rugby and netball both being hand eye coordination and close passing and receiving based games) naturally progress into one another with the report practices helping children progress into the following activity. Other examples of simple transitions are gymnastics and dance, Hockey and Football.
OFSTED and the national curriculum- The SOW is planned and designed in conjunction with OFSTED criteria and the national curriculum. Lesson plans span over 6 weeks plus 1 assesment session and are tailored from EYFS to KS2 and include the following activities.
