Arron Davies is a 16 years old water-skier who has trained with KEPT Fit for nearly a year. Since training with us Arron has been scouted to ski for Great Britain. We asked him for a little low down on what he has achieved and what he thought of his training. This is what he said:

‘’I first water-skied when I was 18 months old on the front of my dad’s skis and I’ve loved the sport ever since. I first went on a pair of skis at 5 years old and was mono-skiing (2 feet on 1 board) at 7 years old. My family’s love of this sport was first sparked when my granddad had a go at it when he was on his honeymoon many years ago.

I now compete for Great Britain, In 2012 I went to the u14 Europeans in the Netherlands and the team came 4th overall. In 2013 I went with the u14 team again and the team came 3rd overall and I achieved an individual 4th in the slalom event. After a break from the GB team I started training with KEPT Fit and in 2015 I got back into the team and went to the u17 Europeans in Italy and the team achieved a 3rd overall.

In the British nationals in 2015 I came 3rd in slalom, 3rd in trick and 2nd in jump and again achieved a 3rd overall. My parents and grandparents have been very supportive purchasing the gear for me to train and also paying for the ski tows I have. I also snow-ski in the winter for leisure and play rugby for school in the 2nd XV team most weekends.

I first got to know Alex through Bolton rugby club; he has researched the sport of waterskiing and understands what I need to be working on. With the excellent new facilities which have been provided by KEPT Fit, this means that we can work on different things and also push myself to the max.

Alex and KEPT Fit have taken readings of my body and given me a workout that I need to do daily to strengthen certain muscle groups as well as develop my body so I’m ski ready. I’m always pushed to the limit and everyone involved is always very supportive.’’

As KEPT Fit we look forward to seeing Arron in more national competitions and were working hard to help him up his rankings. He’s a great example of what you can achieve when you set targets and he’s currently breaking PB’s on a competition by competition basis. Well done Arron.
