My passion for health, fitness and sport started long before I became the owner of the KEPT Fit Gym in Dunscar, Bolton; no doubt the catalyst for that passion is rooted in my early days in athletics and playing rugby. This passion, drive and enthusiasm quite naturally led me towards a career in the fitness industry, initially as a Fitness Instructor, then Personal Trainer. Working with gym members, private clients and sports teams across age groups, in different environments with often quite unique and diverse goals has enabled me to assemble a wide variety of skill sets, techniques and modes of training to ensure the client’s goals are met in full.
I really enjoy developing interesting, varied and sometimes quite quirky and signature training methods using functional strength and conditioning moves and lifts. I have found that incorporating functional strength and conditioning such as running, jumping and throwing etc into training keeps me and my clients motivated. Alongside personal training clients I have also worked with the Great British Ariel’s skiing squad and moguls, High School gifted and talented athletes, numerous athletes across sports such as motorcross, triathalon, rugby, golf, netball and rounders. This extensive and variable experience has enabled me to build a unique understanding of a sports person’s needs, physical, emotional and dietary and their requirements, goals etc with respect to the training function.
Over time came the realisation that training really hard had overtaken the need to be involved at a competitive level in my first love, rugby union; therefore I decided to share my training ethic and passion for fitness I developed a Limited Company helping people to learn to train the way I did. For clients and Personal Trainers alike it is a more exciting way to train rather than being put on a treadmill or cross trainer.
I have combined my years of experience and knowledge and developed KEPT Fit gym; specialising in strength and conditioning based in Bolton home to the majority of my clients. I wanted to provide an environment where people really enjoy coming to train hard and have a fantastic welcoming experience.
The concept of KEPT Fit Gym is to use strength and conditioning to help to develop everyone in a progressive manner. You can become more powerful, trimmer, stronger or aerobically fitter depending on your goal.
